My neighbor has been running a pair of Zuke 140's on a 25 Mako for about 4 years now and has had no major issues. I think he had to replace a small brass shift level or something weird like that, but overall he could not be happier. They are super quiet and run real nice. I fished on a friend of my father's boat this winter in Marathon and he had a pair of 115 4-stroke Yammies on a 23' Cat and they ran pretty nice as well. He humped along at abut 25 knots turning 4500 rpms burning 4.5 gallons per hour per engine based on the Flowscan. I fished 2 or 3 times with him and it was my first cat experience. The boat ran nice in the chop, but I could have done without the "sneeze" of spray from the bow on every wave. It was also a little uncomfortable trolling the edge of the reef in 3 to 4 footers as the entire boat would shudder when one slammed under the deck between the hulls but this was not as bad as the green water over the bow when the skinny hulls would dig into a wave instead of riding up and over them..My other neighbor has the Suzuki 150's on a 2006 25 Sea Fox and they run real nice as well. They are so quiet that I did not hear him pull up to his dock while I was cleaning the v-berth of my boat the other day.

Both are quiet and reliable. The Yamaha F150 is actually more like 160hp, so factor that in. It may just be your rig only needs the DF140, or needs more. I don't know. If either will do get the one with local dealer support, and better current warranty.
The yammies will probably be more expensive and more powerful. A better comparison would be the Suz df150's to the yammie F 150's. A friend of mine has the DF 140 on his boat and loves it, not a hiccup in a few years of use. Extremely quiet as well.
if i were running in open ruff water, i would like to be in a cat, but in all other situations i prefer
a deep v monohull. thirty foot deep v's have an excellent ride. they don't pound and land soft.
They are both great engines in terms of reliability. The Yamaha is like 160hp vs. the Suzuki at 128hp. The difference is significant. There's a five mph difference between the two engines on a 26 Glacier Bay at cruise.
I would try to sea trial the boat with both power plants. On a 22'er with twins the lightness of the 140 zukes may be a better balance on a small boat with twins. I dunno. Just something to consider.
You should be able to get the Zuke 14- for about $1,500 cheaper than the Yami 150 -- so, you'd save about $3,000 for the pair. But, as some have said, this isn't an apples-to-apples comparison -- the Yami will be more powerful...
I run a DF 140 on my Hewes 18' Flats boat. The engine has been outstanding, not one issue in 4 years, knock on wood. Not only is it super quiet, fuel efficent, but suprisingly very fast. For a 4 cylinder 140, it runs hard. Nothing but good things to say about Suzuki.
