Pretty neat. If it were mine I would have found a longer spreader beam and brought the choker to the outside of the bow rails. Seems to be alot of compression force on the bow when you lift it like that. You are correct, though, that is the cats meow for painting.
See now I beg to differ on this being the cat's meow. How do you get a showroom floor finish behind the straps?
Personally I would rather have the boat was off the trailer and on three blocks when painting. That way the paint imperfections (blow in) would end up being under the water line. After all what shows shows.
But I'd sure like that setup for cleaning the antifouling paint off of the bottom of my boat.
Its an Arenacraft that I converted into a CC fishing machine. Arenacraft were off shore racing boats made in the 70's and early 80's. I bought the hull from a fella that had it made in 95 from the mold that is still in a wharehouse somewere. I cut the deck off and re-did it from the stringers on up. Took 6 months hard labor but was worth it. Nice hull for the bay and mild off shore weather. 19 degree deadrise in the stern.. 8 foot beam and 25 feet with the bracket.
I used Wests polyurethane system. I considered using the bow and stern eyes however decided against it because of all the weight from the gear. We gave her sides another coat once we put herback on the trailer. I've been watching you rebuild your stern.. nice job by the way. I never knew this site existed when I was doing my project boats.. otherwise I would have been on it every night. Come to think of it I'm on it every night anyway!
