Default 210 Scout Sportfish deal or no deal

I put up a thread before and had the wrong model number by mistake.

If anyone knows this boat please tell me what you think. I am looking at an 05 model with a fixed GPS and a Furono depth recorder. It has a 150 4 stroke, t-tops leaning post, SS prop, 100 gal gas tank etc. He is asking 28,500 the boat and motoer has 87 hours on it.

Does anyone think this is a good deal.

Thanks

Eddie K, I have been looking at used Edgewater, Mckee, and Scout, 21-23 ft boats, which I believe to be very good boats. Specific to Scout, I have been looking for a 23 in good condition, but may be interested in a 210. If you do not buy please email me contact info at swampjak@aol.com. Good luck.

It depends on a lot of things...remaining engine warrenty, optional equipment, and trailer. NADA prices range from 23,205 to 26,315 for boat and F150 yamaha, with T-top...no trailer. If trailer is included, asking price is in the high end of the price range. The boat could be worth it.

Does it have a T-top? T-top option is worth about 2400.00. With T-top, 28,500 is in the high end of NADA price range. After seeing and sea trial, only you can decide if it reasonably priced. Good luck.

In my experience NADA prices are rarely very accurate for the actual market value of used boats. I believe NADA uses a predetermined year-to-year depreciation percentages and many boat model depreciate faster or slower than their model. If you spend enough time and have patience you will begin to have the ability to pretty quickly determine which boats are 'priced to sell'.

For instance, this boat looks to like it's priced to sell: http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/9/3/88323893.htm

That seems like a very fair price for that boat in the condition you have described. I paid more than that for mine 2 months ago with similar hours and a few more options.

You can throw away the NADA values in many cases and this is one of those.

I looked at several '06 205 SFs and found my '05 210 which had just been traded for a Pursuit. If you want to compare the 210 to the current model that would be the 222. That's a lot more money for a new one than what you're talking about here.

Where are you located ? There another one like mine that was recently for sale on the NC coast.

Thanks for the replies, I bought the boat it was dry and rode good. He gave me all his electronics and the boat was clean he took good care of it. I got it for 28k, CD player, aluminum trailer with disc brakes, tilt hydraulic steering, SS prop, T-Top, leaning post, electronics box, Furono depth recorder and fish finder, Garmin fix mount color GPS, and VHF radio, dual batteries, raw water wash down etc. I will fish this weekend and see how it goes.

Take care

Eddie
