Default Boston Whaler Question

I have a 1999 18 outrage. I'm getting some osmosis around the port scupper. I want to re-seal it with some 5200 but i'm not sure how to gt the plastic fitting out. Does anybody know if they can be taken out. I thought maybe it would screw out but it doesnt.

Are they pressure fitted in there? should i just seal around the fitting?

I figure someone out there must know or have an idea, thanks.

last time I had one of those in the shop the fitting practically fell off.

I seem to remember them being threaded on one side so try holding one side and turning the other, the one I had in the shop had no sealant on it whatsoever.

Re-seal the transom cap while you are at it.

whaler central and continuouswave are both great sites with great whaler advice. Top notch. That said, I would be very careful screwing with a whaler's transom due to the foam filling. I am not an expert, I have just learned to be a bit paranoid ... the hard way.
