Default Key West 2020 dc

I'm looking at a 2000 2020 dc Key West 150 john son, Any one have an old one ? I don't need perfection, just something that won't rot or delaminate out from underneath me. MartyD

Key West makes a great hull, The gel coat and Fiberglass work is very good,, you wont go wrong if the hull is in good condition,,like any hull if it has been mis treated or damaged it will fail...More likey your focus should be the outboard power plant,, What shape is it in,, has it been maintained ,, Compression tests,, water in the lower unit,, ETC.. the Key West is a great boat,,,They have seemed to be able to keep the quality high even with an in crease in production..And still family owned..Key West reputation has never included delamination or rot...They are wood free..Trouble free boating and having piece of mind relies on the combination of reliability from your hull and your outboard,, in this case dont worry about something rotting out from under you,,,Look also at the power plant that will give you the piece of mind to push any hull to its home port.

I have a '99 KW 2020DC. It originally came with a Johnson 175. I killed that engine (long story) and now have a 2002 Yamaha F115. It's a LOT slower, but it's bearable. I owned a 1995 KW 2020 Bluewater cuddy before the DC. They share the same hull, but the Cuddy is drier. Anyway I have no complaints with the boat, it certainly won't rot. The windshield door can stick a little, so keep it greased. Don't use WD-40.
There are nicer, bigger DC available but you'll pay a lot more for them.
