Mounting a bow mount trolling motor

I am thinking of mounting a bow-mount trolling motor on my bay Scout. However, I am hesitant to drill holes in my new boat. How do they mount? When they need replaced is it necessary to drill new mounting holes are will a new one mount on the same mount?

If you stick with same brand and size there is a good Chance they will simply go from hole to hole ....Just get all the Thrust you can afford and the longest shaft ..... even if you do not need it ....I'll tell you why .... shorter shaft put;s the Head closer to the mount and Them you have to bend over more...That's not fun in a rough chop .....John
