Default Dusky 23 CC Sea-trial

Hello all,

I have a delema that I hope someone may be able to solve for me.

I have pretty much decided to buy a new Dusky 23 CC with twin Suzuki 140 4-stroke's, but Dusky has been unable to provide me with a sea trial, since they are a factory direct boat builder. In conversation with Dusky, they tell me that they do not keep sea trial models on hand at the manufacturing plant in Dania, Fl, therefore sea trials are hard to come by.

Is there anyone that lives within the mid-atlantic region that ownes this model boat (power does not need to be the same, but a twin engine setup would be prefered) that is willing to offer me a ride on their boat for the cost of fuel?

Please help or offer suggestions! Thanks

Matt Reno

I was able to find some cheap tickets and fly to Sarasota and test the 23 Yellowfin this past Saturday. I'm sure you could find some owners near the plant that would take you for a ride and then see the plant too.

Makes for a long day but well worth the trip.

Good luck

23' Yellowfin

Write a contract contingent on the satisfactory sea-trial of the boat. If they accept and you don't like it you are not screwed. I looked at there boats back in 95 and went through the same crap, they treated me like I was a young punk not worthy of buying a boat from them. I ended up buying a SeaVee 25 instead...They are not the best riding boats, but for the money they are a hell of a buy in my mind. Built pretty tuff...plus twin 4 stroke motors for a killer price.

Why a Dusky? To simply buy the boat you will have to travel to south FL. Not to mention if you happen to have a problem with the boat, you will have to haul it back. You'd probably be better off developing a good working relationship with a local dealer who sells a high quality product.

They don't seem to have a problem finding a boat for a promo picture for advertising.... That is sad.. And I like Dusky's and think they are a good value but that is poor..
