Default Power Outlets for downriggers

Hi all what do you recommend for Power Outlets for downriggers. I have 2 down riggers and 2 electric reels that I use. I was thinking of getting 4 separate outlets all the same with matching plugs, the 2 pin plugs and wiring them fused with 10 or 12 gauge wires. That way I can disconnect them quickly. Any thoughts?

I purchased 2 outdoor heavy duty extension cords. Those with the built in 3 plug adapter. I cut them long enough to run to the
battery and put them right up under the gunnel. Then put reg heavy duty plugs on my 4 downrigger cords.
They are 12 gauge wire. They work great.

BTW I see you are from Racine! I have fished that Salmon a Rama several times!! Fish most of the time in Door Co in summer.

How about the type used for trolling motors?

I believe Marinco makes them.

This is a good suggestion. I have Scotty plugs on my downriggers & electric reels. They are a staight push in connection. They often come unplugged when moving around the cockpit. The two pin type you reference would be similar. The Marinco plugs are a twist & lock type. Much less likely to come unplugged at an inopportune time.

Thanks for the suggestions, I forgot to mention they need to be corrosion resistant, as I boat in both fresh and salt water, fourdfish yes I am from Racine. Salmon-A-Rama has gotten huge.

I have two (2) Scotty 1106 electrics mounted on my boat. I mounted the female Scotty plug underneath and behind my gun'l. I just plug em in and go. I recently purchased a crab/shrimp pot puller. It mounts directly onto my Scotty downrigger base. The plug for the pot puller is a Scotty male plug. Slick to just plug it in to the same downrigger power supply. To much effort to pull crab pots up anymore, now just use the pot puller-OHHHHHHHH so easy now.

Scotty has altered their electrical connection. See http://www.scotty.com/marine/product...andsocket.html
