Default Action Craft So Long & Trolling Motor Dillemma

Hey all. Brand Newbie here. I have a 2003 Action Craft SE Flyfisher. I have been out of the loop but I was really dissapointed when I heard that Action Craft was closing it's doors. They really treated me well and will be missed. Maybe Bradley Direct will buy the name and hull designs and call it Range Craft......Wow...that just came from nowhere and gave me gas pains.

Anyhoo, It's been a terrific boat for me and I have really been avoiding drilling holes in the deck. I know a couple of guides here in sarasota, namely Rick Grasset who sent me the Action Craft direction, and he thinks the trim tabs are awesome, but he polls for a living and uses them almost exclusivley for Tarpon season. Minn Kota has the 70lb model that was designed for flats. They also have the pro lift assist in 80lb which I kind of liked for those July and August days. Then I said, hell if money is no object what about their models that have that cute little remote? Let's hear from you trolling professors on which model you think would be best for me?

PS: if you are wondering what's I've been doing prior to this trolling motor dillemma is polling and using anchor poll. and probably catching less fish. Thanks.

BTW The latest news is that AC has their molds in storage in NC and has a property identified for their new facility.

The MonnKota Riptide is a pretty neat trolling motor, especially with the autopilot feature. It is really handy to punch in a direction and have the trolling motor take over so you can concentrate on casting. The only feature I don't like is the difficulty in keeping the transducer cable on the motor-mounted transducer out of the mount. This is my third trolling motor in 12 years on my bay boat (an OMC, MotorGuide Great White, and now the Riptide), and the Minnkota is the best.
