Fuel consumption

I'm in the process of repowering my 29 Aquasport.Removed the 19yr old carbed 260hp Volvo inboards and tranny's and replacing with 5.7MPI Crusader Capt. Choice engines w Hurth transmissions.Old engines were guzzling gas @ the rate of .7 mpg. Anyone have an idea what kind of consumption I might expect with the new power?Boat weighs 9500lbs dry.Modified v @ 15 deg deadrise.Would be happy to see 1.0 mpg at any cruise above 20kts.

You should see approx 1 - 1.2mpg at about 21 - 23 knots. Be sure to spend the time to get the right props.

Thanks for the reply Wetspot.Cruise of 21-23 is fine as anything faster causes her to pound in a head sea.Would be real happy with 1.0-1.2 mpg.
Will probably need new props as I've been told she's overpropped with the 18x21 bronze props now installed.Will run her after the engines are in and see how far short of the manufacturers WOT rpms it gets up to.I'm thinking if it gets to within 400 rpms of WOT specs I'll have the existing props repitched if it falls further short I'll get new props.Thanks again.
