I must be thick or something heaveeweight - can you point out the shower to me please - and the flouro while your at it!
I have no doubt they are there but I'm goin blearey eyed squinting at this 17 inch monitor so close that my breath is foggin it up and I STILL can't for the life a me figure out where the water comes out?
Is it like a normal shower rose, big round bell shaped with lottsa little holes? (and where are the H & C taps?...does it have a drain & plug? tiles? soap holder?...see now ya got me wonderin!)
Probably a dumb question - I know!
Heaveeweight rolls his eyes and reply's - "Go to the bottom of the class, trouty - and take your books with you, looks like you'll be stayin a while!"...
Honest - I've never seen a shower on a boat - I just wanna see one once will do..just for the heck of it.....(so I can show the guys downunder a boat with a shower on it...)
Hey I love the look of her - just lemme know when you get tired of her .
Don't worry Trouty, I don't see them either! I think in the bottom photo the shower head is right above the man's head in the back, the one holding the top with his hands over his head.
Heavee, how come your switching from a Contender to a Sea Vee? I know the Sea Vee is also a very good boat and very similar in a lot of ways to the Contender. If you have any negatives about Contenders, go ahead and state them, it won't hurt my feelings. Just curious is all.
It's a great looking boat! I'm sure you'll love it.
HvyWt, man that is awesome - I never seen a light inside a T Top tube like that before - just so neat - it blows me away - man that thing is all class...
Shower is obvious now you point it out - I was lookin for something different...again what a great idea - nothin worse than scratchy dry salt stuck in ya beard for days on end after you cop a soaking on a long run to remote islands with limited (read none) fresh water!
Man I could marry that boat and live happily ever after at some of the islands here...the lack of water is what keeps all but the adventurous and fool hardy away - meaning the fishings untouched...(I qualify 50% - I'm the fool!)
With boats like that around tho - it wouldn't be too long before such places would get awfull crowded...
Comfortable and educated/thinned out fish populations - or "captain crusty" and unbeliveable untouched fishing??...
I wan't both - the veritable shangrilah...and hell with that See Vee I could do it in style....
You know how to get a mans jolly green giant genes into top gear HvyWt, I'll give you that much...
You better talk to da man at SeaVee for me - I think they NEED one a there boats plying our waters under charter to get the market exposure downunder!
If I add a few more pounds - I could be the "HvyWt Challenger" from downundah!...green hull - yellow topsides, with a green TTop and flying the green & yella boxing kangaroo flag - would look kinda neat I believe!
Matt:
In all honesty, I still have to put Contender and Sea Vee in the same group. I loved my Contender. I think that the 25 Contender will go down as one of the best riding boats ever built.
I moved to Sea Vee for a couple of reasons. First of all, they make an excellent product:
Great ride, best finish I've seen on ANY boat, the hatches and doors look like they came off a Viking 52 (oversized hardware), etc. Also, I run a fishing tournament, The Grove SLAM! (www.groveslam.com) and they are the title sponsors.
I'd love for some of you Carolina guys to make a trip down to Miami for a test ride. Maybe for next year's SLAM! You'd be surprised at how great this boat rides and workmanship is second to none. Check out my first post http://thehulltruth.com/6/ubb.x?a=tp...1&m=9306093053
NOTE: Fuel is 250 gallons.

She is a beauty. I can't wait to head over to Bimini, Chub, and a whole new set of Bahamian spots I haven't been to yet. The boat has 40 gallons of fresh water which is more than enough for a week-long trip.
Tony, been looking for an excuse to trailer the boat down to Fla....well, when the water cools off here anyway (early spring). Would like to run across to Bimini or somewhere. I'd definitely like to ride in a Seavee sometime as well.
I was just curious on the decision. I didn't know if it came down to something specific as far a layout or otherwise. I know Sea Vee makes an outstanding boat. There are definitely things I'd change about my Contender (not much though), ie. I wish the console were bigger for more storage, but that's about it. I certainly understand the sponsorship thing having an impact on what you would buy. I'm a salesman myself and would make a change if a good customer had some influence on the decision. It doesn't hurt that they make a damn nice boat to boot! I'd say "great decsion!"
Thanks for the link on the specs. There is some cool stuff on your boat indeed. Video camera sounds awesome. Does it have a fish eye lens?...lol. I'd guess it would have to so as to give you a wide angle.
I just purchased a 1998 25 sea vee with a single 250 from a guy in south fla. My old boat was a 99 25 contender that I sold because I wanted to downsize to a single engine. Both are great boats. I am extremely pleased with the ride, economy, performance etc of my sea vee. I wish more people in the carolinas would give them a try. I guess the lack of dealer support is a factor. If I was in the market for a 31 it would be the sea vee. Good luck with yours and maybe a couple carolina boys will trailer down together to fish the slam next year. Can I reserve the Hvwt honies to clean my boat after the 1000 mile trip.
That is definitely one well thought out top! The shower idea is outstanding! Since all the wires are exiting down low, I am assuming there is no overhead "radio box"? I like that idea too and did the same on my boat, looks roomier up top without the box.
