Default Mako VS Key West

I am torn between the Mako and Key west 21 bay series' , the Makos are much easier to find and the later model BayReef is hard to find for whatever reason... but I was wanting your feedback from each
I am leaning toward KeyWest if you know of a prospect..let me know
with regards

Default Mako VS Key West

ReelThyme,

I've own a Bay Reef 196,and am very pleased with the layout, performance, and quality. I crawled all over the Mako Bay boat at the Bass Pro in Lawrenceville, GA last week and was very unimpressed with quality, ammenities, and price. You get much more boat for the money with the Key West. Just physically check the two out and you'll see the difference.

Between the two , I would go for the KW. Almost bought one a few weeks ago , very nice. I got the SeaPro instead, hope I made the right decision. Enjoy your boat shopping. Nothing more fun than shopping when you already have the ok from the ADMIRAL!!

The older Bayshark 2000,and 2001s are awesome bay boats built like tanks weight over a ton, handle like a dream, they changed the liner in 02 and made it lighter

Default Mako VS Key West

Key West makes a good quality ,Dry hull,, the glass work and the Gel coat remind me of the old makos,, not todays version. their use of quality hardware, and stainless materials still are utilized,, This year they added trim tabs to most of thier models and stainless steering wheels at the helm, Key west has found a way to produce a quality hull while keeping production up,This family owned company still has quality as its focus. Linked with Honda or Yamaha power you have a great package.
