Default How to mount Ouriggers on Hard top

Hey Guys,

Well I went to look at my new Seaswirl Striper 2101 with Alaska pack on the weekend. It looks great! I can not wait to pick her up in 2 weeks.

I spent a few hours playing on it to see how I would be installing all my electronics and the like, but the only problem that arose was how to install items on the hard top- especially the outriggers!

The hard top has a cavity with only one access hatch, so I do not understand how I am suppose to put a backing plate in there, let alone tighten the bolts once the outriggers are installed.

I also need to mount the 3 antenna's on the roof.

Would be interested to hear on how anyone else with hard tops has mounted their heavy duty and light duty items to the hard top, without making the underside of the roof look like crap, but not compromising stregth.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

Take out the speakers and get a good fish tape.

Lots of Alaskan top mounting information on the Striper Owners Club site, http://seastriper.com

Not sure Stripers mounting plates are arranged with the hard top, but we have a Triton with a hard top. The mounting plates are only an inch below the hard top and wondered how we would get the outrigger mounts on without removing the hard top.

Basically you cut a hole in the hard top, then push the outrigger mount up through the plate and hard top and bolt the outrigger mount to the UNDERSIDE of the mounting plate. (vice it sitting on top of the plate and bolting it to the top of the plate)

This was a very easy install. Hardest thing was taking the outrigger mount adjustable arms off so you can push them up through the holes.

Of course if don't have mounting plates installed then you need to remove the hard top (most likely) to get them welded in.

Hope this helps.
