They also say on the specs that a 150 is minimum power and that 250 is maximum, so that almost suggests that a 175 might be a bit underpowered.

Be interested to hear what you think.

I kinda fail to see how any properly propped 21 foot planing cat can be underpowered at 175, unless ProKat has designed a really unique pig of a boat here (and I don't think they have.) As stated, minimum is rated at 150. I wonder what 175 vs. around 200 would really get you? (As always, of course, this is pretty subjective at both top and bottom ends of the HP range...one guy's "barely adequate" is another's "just right.")

Test rode one with a the ProKat rep and a local guide two months ago in South Padre, 225 Merc, jack plate. Boat ran 55 / 56 mph, very dry stable ride. (The Zuke 175 is very strong and I bet you will see high 40s, maybe 50 light.) Winds were in our face at 20 to 25mph, and the guide was impressed with the dry ride into that chop. Made a few drifts with the local skinny water guys and picked up 11 reds. :-)
