I ordered a boat around the 15th to the 20th of March. My dealer was able to get the Serial numbers for the engines from the factory and register the engines before the end of March, when I actually did not take possession of the boat till middle of April,,,Hope that helps

Make shure you get the dealer to do the proper paper work....and follow up on it, if you dont get Yamaha to send you a confirmation by mail (30 o 60 days) it means you dont have a Warranty at all ! I know...I been there.Specially if you live in Florida.
I paid $2K for the extendid warranty and it was a big mistake. It doesnt cover crap!! I had to replace some engine parts and I still paid for them.Dealer said it takes forever to get stuff approved.i wanted boat so i paid.
If you live in FLA. you will not recieve acknowledgement of the extended warranty. If you go to a dealer he can look it up on his computer and print the experation date showing the longer warranty. They apparently have a problem with some Florida Law on extended warranties and even though you do have an extended warranty they will not send it to you in writing.
Been there, Doing it.
I placed my order for my boat on Monday and dealer said we have to do it this week in order to get the numbers from the factory. I would imagine them doing it again in the future, maybe around boat show season?

Cracker...It took me and other people many months (9) to get that letter. So you got lucky...and we are Liars right?
Elcosito,
I did not call you a liar or anyone else..... I was simply pointing out "Not Necessarily True." (Course I originally spelled it wrong) ... Maybe, I am just delirious from always stuffing my bow on my CC, Right..

We had great service from our dealer using the warranty on our previous motor ... maybe it's your dealer having trouble with Yamaha. We had to have the injectors replaced and our dealer even took a set from one of his in-stock motors so we could get back on the water within the week.

I just ordered a boat on Monday so I could get the warranty. The dealer is registering the boat this week ao I get the extra 3 years, will keep you up to date on the process.
Well so everyone will know it will take several months for you to get that letter. Yamaha processes there warranty paper work every 30 days. And this time of the year when they are running this program, you need to know that you are NOT THE ONLY ONE who got this extended plan. How and why I know this, is because I use to work for a yamaha dealer.
I just got my boat, and was told it had to be before March 31. I was also told that the deal inputs the extended warranty information on the computer to Yamaha.

So an injecter went bad and you got a freebe.I paid for mine.
Not sure I understand your point - but yes that's what happened which is why I say that the dealer relationship is so important. I am sure there are those who would just have blamed it on something we did but our delaer couldn't find anything that pointed to us so they processed it and I guess Yamaha was okay with it becasue it was fully covered.

The Yamaha "Turn Key" extended warranty program this year must be registered by midnight Saturday the 31st. Your dealer will register your motors on line but will not be able to confirm it till after Yamaha processes it 4 to 6 weeks later. Your dealer will be able to give you a printout at that time long before you receive a letter from Yamaha. Prior to that it is on your purchase aggreement.
If is just on your purchase agreement...its between you and the dealer, Yamaha will not honor it. Yamaha told me so.As for been in the computer system...today you are tomorrow who knows? Just make shure you call and follow up every month untill you get a letter.
