Looking at this co, can anyone give me any feedback. A 23 is suffecient but prefer twin smaller motors vs one larger. Speed is not the biggest concern. What I'm looking for is a boat with a great ride in the ruff, good but not necessarilly the best for fishing overall, and an occasional pull the kids on a tube or ski. What do you guys think of these boats or what else is comparable. Thanks for your insite, I learned alot from his forum. Jeff http://www.alburybrothersboats.com/27albury.html#
I am sure some will say it is the weight of the motors, but water it to close for comfort on the transom on the one picture for me. Nice boat, but why not a closed transom?

I just moved to a house on the water, and the guy that lives across the canal from me has a 27' Albury. It was the first time I had ever seen one, and I really like it.
I rented a 20' last year in the Bahamas and liked it a lot. Rides great and dry for a boat of it's size. The 23 is it's big brother and has been around awhile, the 27' is a new design. For what you are looking for I would guess the 23 would be a good fit, but they don't come cheap. Go to the Abacos and you will see these boats running around everywhere, they were originally built on Man'O War but now they are built there and in a plant in Florida. You may also want to check out Dorado, Gause Built, Andros as these hulls are similar in size and layout.
At the Palm Beach show the 23 with single Yamaha F250 had a show price of $73,450. The 27 with twin Suzuki 225s had a show price of $131,735.

You could buy a 28TE Southport for less than 130k.
The boat tests linked to off the Southport website show them costing considerably more with a base price of 150k. If the Palm Beach Albury was rigged the same as the one at the Miami show then it was fully loaded with electronics, outriggers, etc.
I've heard the Albury is a tank. Theyare still being built in the Abacos, but now they have a second plant in Florida. Hope you enjoy your new boat, I don't think you will be disappointed.
