Cannon mag 10 TS. - The Hull Truth

Anyone been useing the new Cannon TS Electric downriggers? I am thinking of buying a pair but would like some feed back on likes and dislikes. Do they reel up the ball by them slevs after you hit a switch or do you have to stand there and hold a switch on? I want one that I can hit the switch and walk away from.

The old cannon Mag 10s had automatic up - I would imagine the new and improved Mag 10s would have it as well.

You do have to use the cable for the automatic up to work, however. If you respool with mono or braid you have to hold the up button.

Why do you have to use the cable? That sucks, I hate the noise it makes. If I have to stand there and hold the button because I switch to braid then I might as well get the manual ones and save $600.

i believe the steel cable transmits a tiny electric current to tell the motor when to stop?

Can you put a 10' section of stainless cable on first, between the downrigger ball and the mono or braid? or does it have to make a complete circuit between the downrigger body and wire to work.
