I'm looking at a boat that has a T top. Problem is the T top is 6'4" off the deck and I'm 6'6". Is it a good idea to take this off or am I gonna make to many small holes on the deck and console which could allow water to get under the deck area? Thanks for any thoughts.
The holes can easily be repaired. The problem is repairing them to the point that they do not stand out. I would think that a good fabricator could add a little height to that T-top. You may want to give one in your area a call and see if that is an alternative.
I feel your pain. I too am 6'6" and am looking at CC boats with t-tops. Even if the t-top is tall enough to accommodate us the damn rocket launchers typically do not. I have talked with a company which does custom t-tops and they said they could add some height to one with minimal problems and expense. They can also mount the rocket launchers higher as well. Best of luck with the t-top. If all else fails I may just buy a really sweet fishing helmet to were on boats.
