Random Quote: I had a few words with my wife, she had a few paragraphs with me.
Anyone have this boat? I am looking for a boat that I can stay on with one other person for 1 - 3 days and take 100 miles or so off shore to the canyons. This boat looks really neat, but I havn't found many photos of the cabin nor have I heard any people's first person experiences with it.
Well we have a 33 and its currently being rigged, so I little experience except the sea trial. However my wife and I spent 2 weeks on our 28 GW this summer it wasn't bad, then she saw the 33 cabin and that was it. After a several hour sea trial and following a 33 in the straits of Juan de Fuca with the wind blowing 35+ against the current this creates a very steep 6 - 8 ft sea . I tell you my perceptions. It has a real soft entrance, and dry ride, it is very stable on the water, the motors are set far enough apart that it handles like inboards. Realistically its a 26mph boat burning 18gph with 4s. Oh my wife likes it, enuff said. By the way very informative board, thanks Wiley
I have a marlin 300 that does low 40's mph with twin 250's. What speed does the 330 have? And can one engine get it on a plane? I'm a little wary of having outboards on a boat that size, especially the F225's I have seen it with.
I tested 1 with 225 4strokes.At 5000 rpm. which I am told will not hurt these engines the boat was doing 33-34 mph while burning 26 gallons per hour.I am close to ordering the boat with 250 hpds which i am hoping I can run at 4400-4500 and get 29 knots and burn about the same fuel.Has anyone run the boat with these hpds?.The boat runs beautiful. I own a 30 bimini with 250 efis.
Why dont you step it up and get a battlewagon with inboards..If your gonna get 33 ft..might as well get a inboard diesel boat..Give you weight, stability, power and most of all reliability. try a cabo, albermarle, carolina classic, rampage,
henriques, etc the list goes on...and they all have nice cabins for your wife
Yamaha has the specs on 330 with both 250 2s & the 225 4s. Its located in the performance heading of the outboard section of their website. Will show speed and fuel consumption.
The layout on this boat is excellent. There is a lot of room in the cabin. The outboards gave Grady some room to work with that wouldn't be there in an inboard boat. I was looking at the 26-28 but there is a world of difference with respect to usable space when you step on the 33. You really need to look at the boat if you are truely interested in purchasing it.
Where are you located? If near a boat show, go on over and look at the boat. Otherwise, check with some dealers until you find one that has delivered a 33 to a customer who will let you look at theirs.
