Default Gas Tank Question

Hey guys I have a 21 ft Century center console I bought it new in 2001, I am concerned with the new gas we have to use now. Does anyone have are know what kind of gas tank this boat has in it the tank hold 60gl of fule . I hear if its a fiberglass tank the new gas can do damage to it due to the water build up from the new gas. A buddy of mine told ne to use a 27 micron filter on the engin but what about your tank in time will I have to replace it.
I dont think this tank is easy to replace its under the floor. Thanks Glen ~~~~~~~>

Just look at the tank. There should be a place were the fuel level sending unit is to get to it.Should be a floor plate or something.Chances are its an alum tank.If so,a 10 micro filter is fine.If its fiberglass,it will not matter what type of fuel filler you have. The resin breaks down in time, passes the resin a little at a time till it fills up everything. Then again, there are fiberglass tanks made out of Vinester resins that can work with gas.To me,thats one still out and only time will tell.

A boat that new should have fuel system components that are safe for ethanol, but go ahead and ask. The tanks are probably plastic rather than fiberglass. I think most all manufacturers went to ethanol safe components in the '90s
