Default Pursuit Denali

I'm looking at moving up from a 20' CC to a used 23-26' boat that I can fish or spend a day on the water with the wife and two small kids. The Denali looks like a nice option but I'd like to get some feedback from those who use the boat for both fishing and cruising... particularly those who have outboard(s) rather than an i/o. I'll be using it in waters around Montauk, NY.

Up in Montauk take a look at Steigercraft, its built for the rollers and is a very solid platform, you can get them either outboard or I/O and you can get a cabin too. www.steigercraft.com

i looked at the 28 denali extensively several years ago. They are a nice crossover boat, but I am more of a dedicated fisherman so I opted for the Carolina classic instead. the 28 has a 9'2" beam or thereabout and is nicely laid out with a decent cuddy. Either a single big block or twin v6 engine options. For a true cross over, I think you would be happy with one. The 24 denali I didnt spend much time on because it was just a tad too small for me. Pursuit boats are regarded as well made boats with great fit and finish in my neck of the woods.

We seriously conisdered a Deanli 2670 last year. They are well designed and good quality. That one had a 9'3" beam and lots of cockpit room. The folding down lounge seating was a pretty attractive cruising feature as well.

I think the one we demo'd had twin 225 yamahas. Nice set up.

We will be starting our 5th season this year with our Denali 2460 with a 5.7 litre Volvo Penta i/o. The boat is used for fishing and cruising on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and has been a delight to own. Fuel economy is one of the (many) things I really like about the boat. We burn no more fuel that we did with the Evinrude SPL 88 that powered our old 17 foot Whaler. If you can find one of the later models with fresh water cooling and the factory hardtop, that would be my choice.
