1998 honda 75hp 4 stroke

if anyone has any input on the pros and cons of this engine, would appreciate it!!

I've got a 2001 version, great little engine, trolls smooth and uses very little gas.

Does not like cold weather though (below freezing), choke the heck out of it and idle at high rpm until it warms up, after that it is fine the rest of the day. No problems in warm weather, but I always use a little choke on the first start up, never afterwards.

I have a '98 90 horse (same basic unit as a 75) and it has been a great engine, over 1200 hours now. Fuel must be clean due to tiny passages in the carbs, look at the oil, look for corrosion, look at the plugs, do a compression test, etc. Even the best engine will have problems if it has been abused or ignored.
