I'm toying with the idea of going with chrome wheels.
You're "pimpin" your boat trailer? You've got nothing better to spend $400.00 on?
Put anything you want on it but expect some funny looks at the ramp. And don't be surprised if you get back from a day of boating to find your trailer sitting on blocks.

I had a set on a go fast boat that was run in the ocean. Rinsing them seemd to be working pretty good until I took one off to replace the wheel bearings. The inside face and the stud holes were a mass of white corrosion. I'd suggest lots of grease on the mounting face of the wheels. Or, you could just use 5200 and you wouldn't need lugnuts anymore...........

I spend and I spend and I look around and there is still another 400... what can I do?
I'm not afraid of funny looks and I'm not afraid of lookin funny...

I guess I really shouldn't talk - I have two original OEM white painted galvanized wheels where the paint is anout 60% flaked off (you can't paint galvanized metal and expect it to stay on) and two aftermarket galvanized (but not painted) wheels. Whenever I have the pressure washer out I hit the wheels to try to loosen some more paint but I have to be carefull not to damage the tires.
Do it the way "baystalker" did and dont get center caps. The caps fill with water then rust out and when you are driving it the rusty water seeps out and get all over everything and eventually pitting the anodized coating on your aluminum rims. I am very anal about my boats appearance and was cleaning the rims at the ramp after every dunk (not even waiting till i got home) and mine have pitted a little because of the center caps.

To the untrained eye it might appear as if the wheels are on the trailer but this is one of those rare Urban Parkers that have the axles attached to a bracket on the boat to reduce the pounding when negotiating 2 to 3 foot potholes. Here in this picture you can see the owner hopping off the boat to go play a game of B ball.
I like the wheels and Eastern Marine is a great place to shop I would just be weary of the GoodYear Marathon tires they have had their problems. Check out the Load Star Karrier Radials they may be a better tire for your choice.
