I endorse the idea of moving the batteries to midship. Some thoughts, do some SERIOUS research on battery types; I recall issues with AGMs and alternators. ALSO I speak from experiance, run one continuous cable from battery switch to battery and starter. No splicing, no soldering

can you be more specific? Like posting a link? I have never in two years read a post o n any website that an AGM has caused a problem with an engine alternator- the CURRENT generation of AGM's charge and drain exactly like any flooded lead acid battery...
do a search on "AGM" and read for hours....further more seek out bluewaterpirate, elusive, birdman and the other electric gurus here and ask them....I even think eyeball would agree
