I think he may be referring to the Volvo IPS. Not aware of any diesel outboard motor of this size......

Dusky's is an IO variation, not an outboard.

Better tie a chain to it, after it tears off your transom you can use it as a mooring.

I have not heard of such a motor although dual props sound like a good idea for some of the big new gas OB's that are coming soon.

The motor in that picture is a Yanmar. This has been done on a few boats now including some using the classic ryborunner hull. They had one on land at the Norwalk Boat Show this fall.

There are various diesel outboards on the market around the world. Don't know if any are 350hp though. None of them meet emissions standards for the US.


edit: Yamaha already has a dual prop lower unit for their outboard motors. It used to be offered on the 150V-MAX.
