I damaged my skeg due to impact with something while fishing. The impact was moderate and chipped the front of my skeg. I also bent it. Immediatey after impact, my 2000 Evinrude 150 ficht RAM shut down and would not start. My guages "chirp" normally when the ignition is turned but won't turn over. Any suggestions? Thanks
On the off-chance that this motor uses an electric fuel-pump, try disconnecting the battery cables and hook it up again. This is not likley to work for you since I have only heard of cars set up this way but thought I'd share just in case.
Also check the emergency kill switches just in case you jumped hardr than you thought when it hit.
Good luck!

Donuts to dollars something is bent in the lower unit.
Try taking the cowling off and turn the motor over by hand, if you cant, there is your problem.

Good starting point. Would add:
Take the plugs out to relieve compression and put in gear. Then try out of gear.
Wow.... you popped a 20amp fuse when hitting something!
Please keep us updated if this is the only damage. I wouldnt even thought to check the fuses after a mechanical contact like that!
Hope that takes care of it. Constant attemps at cranking on a motor that will not turn over (do to physical damage) would pop the fuse.
