Default Yamaha Wiring Question

Need Help!
Santa brought me a Navman Fuel Flow meter for Christmas. I have installed the unit and need to provide it with power.
My 2003 200hp Yamaha OX66 wiring harness has a yellow wire with an insulated connector that isn't going to anything (must be to some accessory I don't have). The wire is hot when the key is on (just what I want for the fuel flow meter).
Is there any reason why I can't use this as a power supply?
The unit uses a 1-amp fuse so I am sure it doesn't draw much.
Any help would be appreciated.
