Apparently there aren't many marinas left that don't have ethanol, which isn't even necessary as far as I can tell. Anyway, I have a 1989 Grady with one Yamaha, and so far I haven't had any problem after a bit more than one season running ethanol-laced gas. We'll see what next year brings. Everyone recommends installing a 10-micron filter.

Good luck to you and the rest of us.

Pretty sure you have an aluminum gas tank (or two), as I do, but ask Grady; the customer service there is great and I've always got an answer within 24 hours to any email question I've sent them (but make allowances for the season, some people might be on vacation).

check other threads in this forum it has alot of hits-I have drained my vst tank for the winter(or long storage) and left very little gas in the main tank- in the spring i will fill with fresh gas after checking for any water-use 10 micron filters -change filters 3 times instead of two-and i am getting a test kit to check the ethanol content of the gas i am putting in!!!!! during the season put fuel stabilizer in -i will run with just enough gas to last the week and put fresh gas in alot

Have added a fuel water separator, but have not had a single problem in 2y of burning 87 octane and 10% Etoh. I've heard that the real problem comes with the older fiberglass tanks.

you SHOULD be fine.
You can throw logic out the window with tanks, there are boats with 20+ year old aluminum tanks, then there are boats that are a few years old with the tanks already gone bad.

I just cut the deck off a 4 year old diesel powered boat that had a bad tank, hurts to do things like that and you cant blame ethanol.
