Default What kind of boat did Noah, the original THT-er have?

Was it a full-keel displacement hull? What was the LOA? Was his a downeast design?, center console?, pilothouse, was there any way for him to steer the thing at all? 40 days and 40 nights in rough seas, talk about 10-20 foot seas all you want, his storm was born from the fury of the man upstairs, just about give up on anything you have seen that you think is rough and nasty, we are talking about the FLOOD of all floods here.

I assume no bottom paint since he knew he was only going to be out for a short while and that the rain was freshwater and that the constant motion would help keep the bottom clean. He had no need for fenders or a rubrail, that much I know and no need for any nav-aids or even a knowledgeable crew.

Can anyone shed some light on his specs for his craft?

I imagine in that day there were no pump-out rules, discharge at will. Thanks for the link, very, very interesting.

With only 2 horses, I would guess it was way underpowered.

HEY!! Not old - "well versed in comedy". You mind moving this thing out of my driveway?

Pretty sure the thing would have been self-bailing.

A cubit is about 18".

It is the measurement from the tip of your finger to your elbow on a grown man . Go get a tape and check yours.

Also they built a scale model of the ark and put it in the wave tank , it took waves to 300'.

Guess GOD gave Noah a prety awesome set of plans.

The Biblical cubit was 21.8", the ancient Egyptian cubit was 20.6", the Black Arabian cubit was 21.3" (a comment on the relationship between Black and Jewish "cubits"??), while the English cubit is only 18.0". My guess is the NBA cubit is about 45".
