Word to the wise. Don't ever deal with the people at Millway Marina. Possibly the worst people to deal with ever. Bought a boat from them recently, there service is terrible on every tier of their organization. Needed to get some little things taken care of since the delivery of the boat, might as well ask Santa Clause to get it done for me. No call backs after several messages, they play the hot potato game when I call and pass me on to others.
I will eventually get through this BS with them. I'm too old to put up with this child play. I strongly recommend to any potential buyers -please do your homework before you buy from them.
I have been a customer of Millway for 3 years and I have always found them to be courteous and thorough. The manager Dana Bassett is a first class guy and exemplifies the kind of professional you want to deal with in the boating industry.
There are many satisfied Millway customers who are participants of this web site.
When briefly dealing with Dana at Millway I found him pleasant enough but your typical boat salesman/dealer - imo...All the numbers had to work in HIS favor else no deal...The deal they put together for me wasn't right for me...They stood firm...I had no choice but to walk on...
I've heard Millway's Suzuki work is suspect from an experience point of view...I know of at least Millway customer that moved his service elsewhere...
Second worst dealership ever. Ive dealt with these guys- Dana mainly. He is a nice enough guy until you need to get in touch with him or if he owes you $. Then they play the best fake busy game ever and he NEVER gets back to you. Just low class all the way and a lack of integrity to boot.
I called the sales dept. 3 years ago with interest in a boat (Beacon Skiff) for back water fishing. 3 times never got a call back from the sales guy. Finally on the fourth try I got the salesman. "I'll call you back with pricing". Never got the call and decided to move on. It's unfortunate for dealers that handle customers like this. This is the kind of stuff that can really damage the creditability (sp) of a dealership and salesman.
Now they're selling Maritime Skiff????? Let's see how long this lasts?
I have spoken with Dana also, he seemed OK to me, although I didnt but a boat from him. I am, however working a deal with Aaron at Nauset marine, and it seems that they are affiliated in some way. Any one with comments on Nauset?
I only needed some Yami parts from Nauset to have hand carried down to Brazil for the tender.
They were polite, courteous, friendly, and took the time with me.

I've never been a racist. I don't like the white half either.
Bought my last boat from Nauset Marine. I found them to be great to deal with. The a little tough to get them to move a whole lot, but eventually worked out a deal that was good for me. They were very thorough, and very courteous. The boat I bought was used, but when i picked her up it looked brand new. Everything worked, but after a few weeks when I had a problem they did right by me.
The banner made me go to them. Thinking they would be on the side of an avid boater/fishermen. Nope. No love from Dana or any of them. They lost a future sale from me. That's the only thing I can do, is take my business elsewhere next time.
I guess you can connect the dots by what is not being said...hehehe
To spin this thread in a positive direction...Jack White at 3A Marine in Hingham (Parker/Seaswirl) and Harry Turner in Falmouth (BlueFin) are terrific guys to work with - imo...
I have never had anything except great service from Millway. They have dropped other projects to help me get back on the water quickly while I was there with my boat in their driveway. They have always been responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.

I'll venture to guess you get better service because your commercial with a charter business. I find I get better service from my suppliers/service techs for the same reason.
You might have a different perspective if you were one of the customers that had thier project dropped to service someone else.

Doubtful. I would never expect them to put aside another customer to help me, unless it was just a quick fix or to let me borrow a tool or something. I know a dozen locals who use them regularly and none have ever complained about anything. I've also sent 5 people there in the last year who have purchased boats off Millway. All of them were happy. By "dropping projects" I meant they have stopped working on a boat for about a half-hour to take the time to help me. Small stuff like getting a broken spark plug out of the head or checking for an engine code. If I ever had an issue they could either not fix within a half hour or talk me through they'd let me know where I could leave the boat and how long they'd need it for.

What were you looking to buy at Millway and what did you end up buying instead?
