Default Whats your winter boat re-fit project? Suggestions?

Dragged it in the garage, took the McGuires to all the little stains and grease marks.
Already done with the interior waxing. The hull gets waxed last...
Found out my horn is severly corroded and needs replacement.
Thinking about removing the waterline pin-striping and having it replaced with a solid stripe...
Gonna change the lower unit oil and motor oil.
Replace some of the caulking thats worked loose.
Go thru all the junk I think I might need on the boat and remove some,
cause it seems to accumulate very quickly...(I KNOW I have too much rope/too many lines)
Clean out under the console and re-arrange the junk under there to fit better,
get some Pelican boxes to store some stuff in.
Strip the old line from the rods I use and replace it closer to spring
Gonna pull the trailer wheels and grease the lug threads and check the bearings.

Any thing else you might do yourself?
What are you going to do to yours?

No big projects this year. Last year I added 2 more drains in the transom from the deck along with 2 more ball scuppers.

Basic winterizing and cleaning before the cover goes on for 3 months, also adding some more rollers to the trailer, but thats about it. I'll probably soak the dock lines in fabric softener this year also. But the winter might bring some ideas to be added in the spring.

im going to try to fix leaky under the water line scuppers and cockpit drains. also going to finish rewiring the auto tab controller and the auto tab retractor so that they retract when i hit a switch in addition to killing the ignition. oh and fix the hydraulic tubing so they deploy at the same rate.

what do you use to wax the interior? a small buffer or can you do it by hand?

I'm going to fish when I can. It's too damn cold to lift any wrenches. I'd kill for a heated barn.

I want to install two high water alarms, one for underway pitch and one for level.
I want to install idiot lights on my bilge pump float switches.
I want to replace all the interior courtesy lights as mine are heavily pitted.
I want to install a new set of speakers and an amp.
I want to add a new boot stripe.
I want to marry a rich, horny supermodel or at least "befriend' one for a month or two.
I want to add a set of bolsters forward of the current set.
I want to change out the starter as the old one is getting sluggish and will ultimately fail at the worst possible time.
I want to fix my busted water temperature gauge.
I want to add all my waypoints into my new raytheon unit...which is a pain in the neck to do.
I want gas to go back to 1.50/gal
I want to replace all the rusted U-bolts on my trailer.
I want to R&R my manifolds and risers.
I want to fix my leaking oil dip stick tube.
The list is pretty long as my yot is an 89 and stuff is beginning to wear out.

I am nearing completetion of changing out the entire center console on my boat. I have been working on it for two weeks and I almost done, just some minor finishing touches. It was a major project. I will create a thread in the "Boating and outdoor photos" forum and post some pics of the entire project once I'm done.

Worth every dime! I found the exact boat I wanted, and got it for a song to say the least. I figure I will have $3,000 into it by the time spring hits, but it will be 110% and exactly the way I want it. I am doing it piece by piece so it doesnt hurt until you add everything up

other things:

-install all new gauges
-new or recondition fuel tank
-all new fuel lines
-finish installing kicker
-2 new batteries
-porta-potty
-mount fire ext.
-all new deck hatches
-refinish all teak
-figure out if I need to or should rebuild the 150 outboard on the back

With 6 months of winter in Maine, it will help get me through

Add Taco Sport Slams... (Snuck them out of my truck and burned the boxes today... Put them in the basement with the rest of my gear so wife won't find out)
Add Down Riggers... (See above)
Fix Underwater Camera (Send it out)
Fix Forward Cooler cushion (Just Took them Out)

Removed motor and refinished the cowl.

Installed a nose cone - they don't of much of anything on a center console, but I always wanted to.

Bought new electronics to install. Navman 8120 - 12" screen.

I'm also in the process of making covers and curtains, actaully cut fabric next week.

Lots more to do. If I had warm weather year round I would never get anything done.

AWESOME, thats exactly what I am going to be doing to my yamaha 150.

Where did you get the decal set and how much were they? Also what was that you used on the lower unit? Some type of bondo mix or what?

Andy over at Shipyard Island Marine will help you with the decals. Nose cone is from TH Marine and the "red stuff" is West Epoxy (not to be confused with the marine store that overcharges). Bondo is a no-no in marine applications.

I figured it wasnt bondo, I built a 15 footer out of west epoxy, guess I had a brain cramp! How can I get in touch with andy? Does he have a website? Is there a ballpark price? I hate sticker shock, pardon the pun.
