Default RADIO NOISE

after getting my new suzuki 150s, one thing i didnt check was the stereo. I have the so called whining noise, like alternator noise. I can drown it out with volume but i need to get rid of it.I bought a radio shack 270-054 audio system ground loop isolator but it knocks out all the music. It went after the amp and to the speakers. Can you please put me on to a cure?
thanks

Try wrapping aluminum foil around your cowl. If that stops the noise, consider lining the inside with foil. You can probably get sound-proofing material backed by foil so the job doesnt look to "McGyver-ish."

Good luck!

I installed one of these noise filters on the power lead to my VHF radio. I had engine whine and fishfinder noise driving me crazy for over a year. Completely solved my problem for $13 and it's very easy to install.

Make sure your battery connections are clean and solid. My wife's car was doing that and we tracked the problem down to a loose battery terminal.

Noise filter should go between the radio and the amp. You may need an RCA "line level" filter which does not have speaker wire connections. Also, try grounding the radio to the amplifier ground terminal, creating a single ground for the radio and amplifer.
