Default Pursuit Denali 24'

I've been looking at used Denalis for fishing and a little cruising on the Gulf coast of Fl. Does anyone have any performance and fuel burn numbers for the 5.7 liter with the duoprop outdrive? Also any experience with how they handle the short 2' chop that is so common here and if they are stable at anchor? I welcome any info that could help make a decision to purchase one. Thanks.

Hi I had a 2460 denali about 6 years ago, it was the 1999 model, with the volvo penta duoprop. Can't remember the fuel numbers but it was good. also no problems in 2 foot chop it should handle it. Because it is an 8.5 beam it gets a little wobbley when I had 3-4 divers on it. Overall a great boat, liked it so much I bought a 31.

good luck.

I have a 2005 that was delivered to me (new) in May of this year. Unfortunately I was only able to put about 40 hours on the boat this year so I do not have any good fuel burn numbers to share. If you go to Pursuit's web site you can look under models, then archives and find the boat. There they have a performance report posted that should give you a rough idea of fuel burn and cruise numbers. I have found the boat to be stable in my limited anchoring and drifting. The boat has been perfect for what we use it, mainly cruising Narragansett Bay in RI with occasional trips out to Block Island. I am a novice fisherman but am starting to enjoy it and hope to get out there and use it more next year. You'll see the pic of my boat below, we added a radar arch with some rod holders but mainly for the electronics. Quality of the boat has been great so far, only problem was a couple loose screws in the port side seat cushions. Should be a very easy fix. Good luck with your search and let me know if you have any more questions.

Mike

Thanks for the info! Great looking boat, Mike. Has anyone mounted a kicker motor on one of these boats? Chris

Chris,

Check out this add on yachtworld, I remember looking at this add when I was searching for my boat. There are several pictures of a kicker mounted.

Below is a link to the factory performance report which should provide what you need. My father has a 2002 model and absolutely loves. He sold his larger cruiser when he retired and moved to the water and has had this boat for two season and can't stop raving about it. I have found it to be very good at handling the steep Lake Erie chop that we get. Have not anchored the boat nor fished off it so I can't attest to its stability although I am used to the 13' beam of my Tiara and anything with an 8.5' beam would seem unstable to me. Good luck with your purchase.
