Default Buying a repo boat

Just curious, would you buy a repo boat from Louisiana?? - 03 Glacier Bay 140 Suki's, had fished Venice according to GPS.- $40,000. No visible damage from hurricanes, and repo company states the same. Seems like a good deal, almost to good. Any thoughts??

If you can get it surveyed give it a shot. If you can't I wouldn't do it.

May have belonged to some poor guy who lost everything due to the hurricanes and was unable to pay for it...

What do you expect the repo company to say, it's there job to sell it, it's your job to find the faults.

Also may have sunk and then cleaned up to pass inspection.
I would pass on any boat from that area for the next couple of years.

What size GB is that ? I owned a 26 ft Canyon Runner with twin 140 Honda 4 strokes and dang thing couldn;t get out of its own way, had to run her at 5000 rpm's to almost get a 25 knot cruise, happy day when I sold her and she went down the road to South Carolina, lol

If it passes a survey buy it. I have bought 2 repo's with no problem. A boat, even in a flood plane, usually floats. Not the same deal as buying a car from there. The last repo I bought was about 60% of retail price. The first I sold for more than I paid for it after 2 years. A buddy's Mako was pushed by Katrina's tidal surge about 200 ft into the woods, trailer and all with no damage at all.

The boat is a 26' Canyon Runner with 140 Suzki's. The boat is curently located in Houston. My buddy is buying the boat, and asked my opinion (I own a 28' cat). I told him it sounded good, maybe a little under powered, and to get a survey. When I learn more, I will post. Thanks for the responses
