Default Snap install tool for canvas

Are those pliers things the best way to install snaps? I just go my replacement enclosure (lost my original enclosure in the house fire) from Maycraft minus the snaps so I can ensure they line up. I started to install the snaps yesterday and it is a pain in the butt making sure the snaps go on tight.. (waste one for every good one)

The plier works but the old hammer driven punch type tool works much better. The generally available pliers are not that heavy duty, and it takes just as much time and more effort with inferior results.

Stop - don't do any more with the pliers or the hammer and punch. I'm local, in Riva, and you can borrow the heavy duty tool I bought when I made my own replacement canvas a couple of years ago. It works great - even when I had to put a snap through a couple of layers of fabric in a corner. Send me an e-mail with your # and I'll call you right back. Mike H...
