Default blitz busters

I was working a nice cocktail bluefish blitz in the Raritan bay last weekend with a group of about 20 boats including 2 party boats and several charters. Everyone was being remarkably courteous, either working the perimeter or getting ahead of the moving school and letting the fish come to them. The blues stayed on the surface and everybody was in on the action. All of a sudden a guy comes blasting through the fleet at about 30kts, runs directly over the fish, drops two lines in the water and starts trolling. The fish scattered and when he came by my boat I asked him why he had to run down the fish. He went off telling me who the F@#$ am I to tell him how to run his boat and various other unpleasantries. I gave him some lip back and it ended.
Short of keeping a harpoon missile on board, I am wondering how the rest of you deal with these types?

We move on to another location. Had that 2 weeks ago, Saturday was great for snagging bunker and live lining for big bass. Large schools of bunker and the few boats on them were very courteous and did things right. Set-up on the upwind side and drift to them, nobody ran right up to the school full throttle. Well Sunday was totally different, apparently the word got out and every yahoo was out running through bunker schools (and probably wondering why the school sounded), over the lines of guys trolling, it's really crazy sometimes. In the spring we got my father hooked up to a 40lb striped bass, the biggest in his life, some dimwit saw the hook up and decided that right under our boat is where all the fish are, he motored over right up to the stern of my boat and almost cut the very line my father was fighting his bass on. Lucky for us and him, he saw the line that he started to run over and managed to turn out before cutting it.

I thought the standard up that way was to give him a bunch of 2oz. sinkers for free, from 50 ft away.

Or you could ram his boat, but only if you have a Bayliner.

james - had the same problem on sunday with aholes on the bunker. i found a nice sized school bunker (along with a few other boats) which was hard to come by sun. everything was good for about 10 mins. staying far enough out watching the other boats and there lines. then out of no where this guy comes right between another boat and i (about 50' apart) and stops right in the middle of the group. scared the bunker and pissed everyone off. i quick rigged a heavy pole casted over his line, over powered him and brought his rig in. i then cut it off for him to bring in his line. he never said one word as he watched me do it. he then took off and i watched him go and do the same thing to another group of boats. some people are just aholes with no brain

Same issue in S. Florida on Dolphin schoolies. Sometimes I believe people just run looking for the boat on fish, only to spoil it for everyone. Moral is there are idiots everywhere. I just move on and find others (although very frustrated).

These are the same people who take up 2 parking spots, turn on their flashers and block a traffic lane during rush hour, take 50 items through an express line at the grocery store, etc, etc. They are just the a holes who were put on earth keep the rest of us from getting too comfortable. They all get what's coming to them at some point and that thought will keep your sanity. Granpa

Let's not get started......Albie mania is over for the year. Some can fish and some can't but common sense should be had by everyone.

I have a question, why is it that the "attach file after posting" box only appears in some threads sometimes and some forums sometimes when I reply to or start a new thread? Seems very random to me. The reason I ask is because I have a great cartoon for this thread.
