Default "Hands On" Seamanship schooling / NY

Anyone know of a school that teaches hands on training at the helm like Chapmans down in Florida? Wanted to know if there was anything like that in the Long Island area. Chapmans offers various classes that appeal to me but would need to head down there. I would really like to hone my skills and increase my experience on 22-35 foot vessels.

Thanks

Contact Russ Cohen at Boatboy Marine Training.com

Owner is a good friend of mine. Russ will come to your boat, on your river to train you.
Tell him pacemakertom sent you.

I second Boatboy Marine. Wish they'd change that name though.

Local Capt is named Jerry and he will take you through the paces until you are comfortable. I had him spend time with the Admiral and she listened 'cause it wasn't me yellin at her. She felt much more confident at the end of the day.

I actually used Russ for 4-hour training when I bought my first boat in '02-'03. He came up from Jersey and it was very helpful. I had not thought of calling them again as I was thinking something more along the lines of Chapmans but it's a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
