Just wanted to pass along some info. The local Contender dealer," Sealing Marine" has sold to Boaters World and they have picked up Contender along with a few other lines. This is great news for the local Contender owners for warranty work, service and support. Boaters World has always went out of their way to do right by me. They kept most of the existing employees in place and I'm looking forward to checking out the new operation.

I was wondering why the front lawn at Sealing looks like a giant bag of Skittles busted open. They have Sailfish lined up in every color you could ever want to (and not want to ) see. Interesting...

Lost shaker, I own a 31 Contender and never laughed at BW for selling Sailfish. I shop at the original store that pioneered the program all of the time and I thought it was a great idea. They have sold enough of them to warrant the need for a service center. I understand that there will be more of these. I think it will benefit both the sailfish owners and the Contender owners. BTW I had to add some cupholders to my Contender .
LR I think the owner wanted out. No loss there.
Hey Jim, That orange one really grabs ya huh. G
If Boatersworld started dealing Bayliner/trophy or Angler or Polar etc
its would be because these lines were POS boats......if Contender is
being sold by Boatersworld its a "wise Business decision".
Don't kid yourself about BW as it is the same as any other retail chain. They usually have mostly kids working there at $ - 8 /hr other than the manager who might have some boating experience. I am sure that the locations that sell boats have a more experienced staff(at least for now)
sealing marine was a contender dealer, an everglades dealer and had a couple budget lines. if they (sealing) indeed sold their location to boaters world they (BW) may be selling existing inventory or they may have negotiated a franchise but that's not the same thing as BW selling contenders. although anything is possible. get over your contender envy.
Seacraft72, I have to disagree with you.
I travel to the US, Fort Lauderdale area, several times a year from Brazil to get my parts ( or to pick up something I had sent in to be fixed) at Boaters'world.
i visit usually the Pompano Beach store ( the older one) , where i am attended by very competent people who have been there for ages.
I have recently paid a visit also to the most recent BW in Fort Lauderdale and to one in Annapolis, MD.
I am impressed with the competence of the staff. If there are young folks attending, I have always found someone more experienced in there alwys with the answer.
Same applies to the BW I used to go to in Atlanta and to the one in Dallas.

I was told (see my prior post re Sealing) that they will continue selling the Contender line and Steiger, but that they won't be selling Everglades (and thus have 3 29 footers to get rid of) - someone up the street got Everglades. It will be interesting to see whether they can sell boats. I think this is their first venture like this. No doubt they see synergies in hooking new boat owners up with Boaters World (probably will be electronics certificates to Boaters World or something like that).

Word on the street is ,
Sealing Marine lost the Contender Dealership before it was sold. There were two Contenders in the inventory a 25S & 31-FA. It is my understanding those boats have been purchased or will be purchased by a NJ Dealership, Ocean Beach.
That is not what I was told on Monday, but you are right that there is a 25S and a 31FA on the lot. Maybe Boaters World was able to convince Contender to let them give it a try?? Or perhaps the guy I spoke with didn't know. He indicated they were bringing Contenders to the Annapolis show next week. It will become clear in time. And hey, look at all the free advertising for Boaters World.
