Default Best of both worlds??

I have a dilemma that is probably not totally solvable but I thought I would ask for some advice anyway. I have an 18 foot CC and I built a casting platform on the bow with a "belly bar" for stability because I pretty much only flyfish and we all know how the Chesapeake can separate a careless boater from their craft. The system works great.I'm happy with it and MUCH safer. The downside is that I have no room for a bow mounted electric trolling motor which I think I want. The reason I think I want it is because it could control my drift and allow me to get into the shallows 9I have a trim/tilt function on the outboard). So my first question is: are those the primary reasons to have a trolling motor (getting into the shallows and controlling drift?). My second question is, given the crowded bow, can I achieve those goals some other way? Thanks everybody!
