Random Quote: many a ship at the bottom of the sea had the right of way... and took it...
I bought a 04 50 zuke on a flatboat a month ago. The other day after I got on plane the engine started surging like it was having trouble getting fuel. It never lost power or killed. I stopped the engine and tilted it up to check for debris on the prop. Nothing there so I fired it back up and got on plane. It surged a little bit then it got right and ran fine the rest of the day except at idle where it had a slight miss. I pulled the manuel out to figure out how to pull the plugs and it was no help. I also tried to find the fuel filters and could not locate them. I have worked on many 2 strokes and know how to do most of the maintence myself but this little engine has me stumped at the moment. The onboard fuel/water seperator was good with no water in it. I have been impressed with this engine and believe this to be a minor problem, likely fuel related. If someone could give me a hint as to how an get the plugs out to check them and where the filters are on this engine. If not I will just bring to it to a dealer and get a lesson there. thanks
