Default seawolf boats (welded aluminum)

Hi guys, just to clarify these are the welded aluminum boats being built in mount vernon, washinton. I'm located in alaska and am looking at buying one of these boats used, the owner tells me it was built in 1994. It is the 21' model with an enclosed cuddy cabin up front, although outdoors there is just a welded in glass windshield and exposed seating and controls. I think they call it the seawolf valkyrie now. Does anyone have any experience with seawolf or this particular model? It's got a volvo gas inboard/sterndrive engine. I'm not crazy about these gas inboard motors so I'm wondering how tough it would be to fit the boat with outboards. Single? Twins? What amount of horsepower might be good? I have no idea how much weight the boat could handle off the transom. And lastly.. any ideas what the boat might be worth? Owner is asking $28k. It's in good shape for its age.

I would appreciate all comments and advice. Thanks

Seems like ALOT of money for a 12 year old boat, see what Pacific is selling their 20.5 footer for, I think its about $25K, no engine

My understanding is that welded alloy boats are actually pretty easy to modify... but if you're going to pay for those kinds of mods and buy a new motor(s) too... maybe just easier to get a new boat or a used one setup the way you want?

Let's say you get the boat for $26k, then spend $4k on the mods... you're up to $30k and still need to buy your motors...

As an alternative, for example, one of these 22' Lifetimer *cabin* boats made in B.C., goes for $37,087 Canadian for the base boat, which is $33,177 US, and they are advertising a special of 10% off the next 5 boats, which would put right back around $30k again... of course you'd have to add for the trailer, but... it's a bigger boat, new, with weather protection, setup the way you want...

Is it one of these:

I've looked at their boats at local shows - looks like some serious, heavy duty stuff.
