I have to sell my 'just bought in May '05,' wonderful World Cat 270SD. Those of you who know what this is will know that my boat may be the only "used" World Cat for sale on the West Coast. For all other readers, allow me to point out that "our" kind of water here in the Pacific Ocean, while not kind to boats or their passengers in mono hulls, is something a World Cat thrives in. You may have seen me and my boat passing you at a good rate of speed after you had to throttle down due to the waves/swells giving you an uncomfortable ride. I named my boat "Hip Nautic" to communicate the sensation of its ride.
You can read up on power cats in the Aug. 2006 issue of Pacific Coast Sportfishing. The article is called "Crazy About Cats." I am quoted in the artical telling about the ride and that among the power cat manufactures there are the Chevys, Oldsmobiles and Lexus. World Cat would be a Lexus!
This boat is fully loaded. It gets a hair better than 2mpg. Holds 200 gal. Boat and its twin 2005 Suzuki 225 4-stroke engines have been lovingly maintained.
You can do your own research at
www.worldcat.com. You will learn that those who have had large boats in the 36ft and larger category who have decided they wanted to cut back, but keep the ride and safety of their bigger boat, buy power cats.... World Cats, in particular.
I keep the boat in King Harbor, Redondo Beach, CA. I am sure that I will be able to transfer my slip to the boat's new owner, if so desired.
If interested in seeing my boat and all that I have installed on it to make it even better than new, get it touch with my boat broker, "Derrick Yacht Sales of Southern California" in Orange County. His website is
www.derrickyachtsales.com and his phone number is 866-616-1300. The man I work with there is the owner. His name is George. (Just signed papers with him on 9/20, so give him a day or two to post photos, etc. )
