Any comments on this boat and a approx price range. I am still checking out some boats before I make my decision. Someone on THT recommended looking at Edgewater. I have all ready looked at Mckee 22, Hydrasport Vector22
All great boats. Love the Edge ...but you gotta take a look at the Sailfish 2360. You cant go wrong with any of the boats, just think the Sail should be looked at...then take it for a ride! Dont try it with check book in hand!
Super top quality and redesigned for 2006. Probably the most family-friendly CC in that size range with abundant seating and very large head compartment that is all smooth gelcoat on the interior. No "euro" transom and toe kick spaces along both gunwales make for a very roomy cockpit. EW uses the finest components including oversized GemLux 318L stainless hardware throughout and their warranty is one of the strongest in the industry. Not a hardcore fishing boat but for an all-around great family/fishing runabout, it can't be beat.
I have the hull - but in cabin model. Great ride and good use of space. Boat handles great with top components. I would recommend. Not a hardcore fishing boat but a great all around boat.
It is a very nice boat but VERY pricey. List is 72K, best deal I could find was 56k. I would also reccomend looking at the 2360 Sailfish, very nice boat.
$56K for a new EW 228 with a factory T-Top is a heck of a buy. Who is the dealer?
It was in NJ, I was looking off season when the 2006 just showed up. Liked the boat couldnt stand the sales person.
There is a good dealer in Annapolis, MD. Check for left overs in the winter and you can get a great deal. I think the sales persons name is Wendy, she was very nice and helpful.
One problem I found with Edgewater is they have a sales territory "issue" where you are forced to buy from your local dealer! This was discussed a little while ago so be careful if you are going to try and get a deal out of state!
Lots of good choices. I think it comes down to dealer, price and layout that fits your needs. The Sailfish is a nice but bigger boat that I believe needs twins to get the performance of the smaller boats, all would be great with a single 250. Was on new Robalo 240 WA @ a show last weekend and felt they have come a long way except no room for a chart plotter of any size. Wellcraft also has some new designs that seem solid @ good prices.
