Default Salt Life Boating Video

Hey guys how's it going? My name is Kyle and I just joined the forum. I've never been big with forums, but I figured I would join and share this boating video I shot and edited for fun. Most of the shots are of my Yamaha SX190 jet boat. Locations vary from St Pete Beach, Tampa Bay and Islamorada. Most of the footage you see was shot on a Hero4 Black. I also used a handheld gimbal and a 3DR Solo quadcopter. Enjoy!

It doesn't appear I can embed the video, but this link will open the video in full screen.

Great camera technique and even better editing skills! Over the last year I've gotten into documenting our boating and travel adventures with a GoPro and a Phantom drone, but my editing on the GoPro Studio software leaves a lot to be desired. What type of editing software do you use?

nicely done, but since you're new here I'm going to do you a favor,,,,,never, ever, under any circumstances, use the term "salt life" in any way on this site.

I'm also a noob here and didn't see any breach of etiquette but seems apparent "Salt Life" has special meaning. I would appreciate learning what is wrong with it.

I really appreciate it! I've been a semi-professional with video for a little while. I personally use Final Cut Pro which is only for mac. iMovie is pretty good as well which comes free on Macs. If you're using a pc I would recommend either Pinnacle Studio, Adobe Premiere Elements or Sony Vegas.

It's because there are so many suburban soccer moms with "salt life" stickers on the back of SUVs that the term has become synonymous with that lifestyle. These people go to the beach once a year and play in the ocean, and because they like it so much, they put the sticker on the back of their car. A lot of people on here resent them for that because they are posers compared to the amount of time a lot of members spend on the water.

OK. Never came across that before as I'm the other side of the continent and had never seen that bumper sticker before. Thanks

Kinda like 90% of the Harley owners out there now that consider themselves as "bikers", heck some don't even own a Harley!

Thank You!! Unfortunately I've had no luck launching the 3DR from my boat. I've tried pre-arming the drone on land a few times and leaving the drone powered on while cruising to a location I would like to launch from and no luck. Now retrieving the drone from the boat hasn't been an issue yet.
