Here is a testimony from a former Judge 34 Express owner regarding the Judge Express (35 Express is just an updated version of the 34 Express).

"I have fished both 32 Albe & 35CC and the Judge 34 Express is the best all around boat I have ever fished off of. My Judge was one of the only 34's built with a single screw (480hp Cummins) and I regularly fished her offshore and only burned 86gal for the day (running from Rudee to the Fingers/Cigar area). It was able to cruise a easy 23kts with the single engine. Since these boats are semi-custom you can have it setup the way you want it. I had Bill Judge setup a cockpit helm on my so I was able to fish the boat solo. I can truly say that letting that boat go was the biggest mistake of my life. " -J. Mackey on Tidalfish.com on 12/02/08

I concur with the statement above. I have fished a 34 Judge Express for the last two seasons. We have twin 380 Cummins which are very economical and fast. The boat has plenty of room to fish and where most smaller expresses fail is in the helm and seating area. The Judge is wide open with plenty of covered comfortable seating. With the warped plane hull(Carolina boats have this) the boat handles rough seas and trolls/drifts well. Last year we fished the Pirates Cove Billfish tournament and in 3 days of trolling and fishing burned 307 gallons. Great quality semi custom boat at a great price.

45 degrees on the bow transitioning to 25 degrees amidships to 11 degrees on the transom. It is a warped plane hull like you see on the Custom Carolina boats.

As tsouthward stated it is a warped plane hull similar to what Spencer, Calyber, Cabo and so many other quality builders use. The boat actually has a 55 degree entry and an 11 at the transom. I certainly can arrange for a sea trial with an interested party to show how fast, fuel efficient, and nice riding this hull is. These boats are set up to fish and made to run!

Being that Judge is a custom builder out of MD, more reveiws and comments can be found on Tidalfish.com as it is our regional fishing forum. Other reviews by owners on the more midatlantic oriented offshore fishing site sportfisherman .com too. I bet you would have a very hard time finding negative comments on the ride and performance of the boat.

Here are a few I pulled off with a quick search of the offshore section of tidalfish.com:

"They are, imo probably the most well laid out express style fishing platforms for their size. no wasted space for cabins, just a great dayboat! not to mention a very efficient and smooth riding boat for the low deadrise at the transom as well. I have had the pleasure of fishing on this rig severla times and absolutely love it. for the money in the less expensive custom boat it is one of the best imo. " http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/mid-...4-express.html

"I have a Judge 34 Express and I love it. Nice riding, well built, fish raising sombitch. Great company to work with as well." http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/mid-...-opinions.html

Here is VA Beach charter who runs one too.

B I responded to your email before I read the thread. Thanks to the info. I used to think there was no substitute for V; but some of the newer designs handle just fine. Plus as I get older I just don't care to go fishing in any weather like I used to. It is just worth the pain for a couple of days after. I have caught plenty of really big fish. I now have more fun putting guys on big fish and then having to finish the fight because they run out of gas. Then I pull out the pics of some of the bluefins, swords, and sharks I have boated. They just look in disbelief.

A buddy of mine has a 2000 35Cabo. It runs fasted then my 35B; but pounds at 24 kts. Plus it has a mist that follows it everywhere.

This boat is an extremely dry running boat. We encourage any one seriously in the market to come talk to us and allow us to take you on the boat to let it sell itself..

Because I have received a couple inquiries regarding a center helm station I wanted to post a couple of photos of a boat where that option had been chosen by the customer.

Just wanted to follow up on the 35 Express. We just fished the Jesus Freak in the Pirates Cove tournament and we burned 91 gallons on Tuesday. Thats a 20 minute ride to the Bonner Bridge, 34 miles to the fish at the 50 fathom curve, trolling 7 hours, and finally the return trip home. I fished a 25 Carolina Classic before with a single 8.1 Volvo Duoprop and would burn 75-85 gallons depending on sea conditions. All I can say is, the Judge is a great riding, fast boat that is easy and comfortable to fish while being economical.

Awesome Tommy!

For those interested in checking out a 35 Express, we will have one at the Annapolis in water show. I plan on helping Judge at the show some and hope that some THTers will stop over and introduce yourself.

Unfortunately we will not be at the FLA shows. In order to offer high quality custom boats at highly competitive prices, Judge does very limited amount of shows. These truly are quality custom boats at production price offerings.. Should someone be interested in seeing or running a boat, we can make arrangements to pick the person up at one of the local airports (BWI, Philadelphia, Reagan National, etc.) take them to the plant to go over production processes as well as make arrangements to run a boat for them.

I assure someone in the market for a mid 30's Express that running one of these boats will sell itself. The ride, run attitude, speed and efficiency of this custom warped plane hull will surpass anyones expectations against any other in the market place. These hulls naturally run level allowing the very sharp entries (55 degrees on the Judge) to slice the water. Plus you get a longer running surface in the water. When you have to slow down in the real rough stuff your bow isnt pointing to the sky plowing. (boat can run at 18 knots without sacrificing visability). You have great visability in an express layout without sacrificing ride or roll when trolling. These boats are much faster and fuel efficient than the other bottom styles out there. Heck with twin 380 QSB Cummins the Judge will run 36knots at WOT.

With the completion of the Judge 36 Coastal Cruiser to be released at the Annapolis show (boat is already sold), there are now immediate open production slots available for either a 35 Express or 36 Chesapeake. Please call to discuss a production schedule on either boat.

Sorry the wx was so lousy for the ANP show. We chose to defer to next year rather than get soaked! Darn Nor-easters. The 35 Express is absolutely beautiful.

B Faithful:
Have enjoyed your posts over the years. I know you mentioned running deals on these two boats. Just trying to get a handle on what they cost out the door with diesels & standard options. Thanks

Fin, Shoot me an email and I will email you standard price sheets. My email address is bfaithfulfishing@yahoo.com With the boating marker slow, we would love the opportunity to get very aggressive too.

Thanks!
