Default additional rod holders

I have an older boat with a birdsall original 38" leaning post with the grab rail. I see on the website that there is the option to have rodholders welded on in between the grab rail and the fiberglass piece. Is this possible to add on after the fact or is this something that needs to be done while the leaning post is being built? I live in S Fl, so I could bring the leaning post up to your shop.

Thanks
