I'll be switching to a new Johnson 4 stroke in about a week and will have my 1988 Johnson 120 available for sale. She is currently in good running condition.

Will include:

1988 120hp Johnson
Oil tank
All rigging
Binnacle
Cable steering

The mechanic doing the repower will check compression, check running condition and load on pallet. Engine will be available for local pickup in about a week. Engine is located in New London, CT. Its currently on the boat and in the water and will be available for a sea trial until I haul her to the dealership.

I'm looking for $1000 or best.

Approx. hrs? Please post compression #'s as well. I need a new lower unit for my '89 Evinrude 120, and this one might do the trick - and have spare parts left over.

Do you have any pics of the engine w/ cover off and close ups of trim pump, bracket, etc?

Thanks.

Any idea on the weight of the engine (usually listed under the specs in the manual)?

Thanks-

Dave

is that a looper? or VRO?

It has a VRO system.

jschroeder - the loop vs the crossflow question is different than the VRO (oil injection). It has to do w/ the shape of the piston heads and how the fuel/air mix passes thru the cylinder. I believe yours is a loop model, but you may want to confirm. Maybe post the model # as printed on the metal label on the engine bracket.
