I have a 31 CC, 8.4 beam, draft is 18-24 inches; please advise what would be the best setup for me?
Thanks in advance.

Two questions,
1. What is the displacement of your vessel
and
2. Are you looking for a trolling sea anchor, or one for storm survival. A trolling sea anchor in the 9' or even the 6' could probably double for both.
Let me know

1. Displacement with fuel, batteries, gear, etc. is around 6500-7000.
2. Likely will not use it as a trolling sea anchor, but rather as a storm survival device.
Question, how compact are these anchors and what is involved in breaking them down after use??

The suggested sea anchor size for you boat is a 12' sea anchor. This is for a boat 12,000#'s or less and between 25 -33 feet. It is in my honest opinion that a 9' sea anchor would also be sufficient. This will help you save on size, weight, dimmensions, and also cost.
9' Sea Anchor stowed is 7" diameter x 9" long weighs 9lbs.
12' Sea Anchor stowed is 8" diameter x 12" long weighs 12lbs
Below is pricing. As a THT member, take 15% OFF
9' Sea Anchor $349.00
12' Sea Anchor $599.00
1/2" S/S Swivel $48.00
350' x 1/2" rode w/ S/S thimbles $341.50
Rode stowage and deployment bag $60.00
100' Trip Line - $86.00
3/8" S/S Bow Shackle $9.00
One of these sea anchors plus the additional equipmwent would make a complete package, but you may hvae some of these things already. The sea anchor comes with a comlete video on how to use them, and more importantly how to retrieve them. I could go into it now, but it is farily lengthy, but it is not overly complex

Hmmm, something doesn't add up here.
My 22 foot Grady-White walkaround - loaded with fuel, equipment and crew weigh in at 5,500 lbs.
How could a 31 foot Betram be only 1,000-1,500 lbs. more?
I agree the 12 foot model sea anchor is the best choice for the Betram (I recently purchased a 9 foot model). Great service from this source by the way!

Why so big and so much???? Shouldn't a sea anchor just keep your , well depends one where you hook it. But keep your boat down slope of the waves??? A little bit of pull on the bow keeps it up wind and into the waves. Pointed it into the waves? or what RR I missing?
