I live on 24 between Morehead and Swansboro and have a Newfoundland and a lab who love to swim. I am transplanted from the northern OBX where you could get to the sound at any on of 500 places to take your dogs swimming. Anyone know of a sound access that's not covered up in people where the dogs can swim?

saltydawgrods, I also live along highway 24 here at Bogue-Do you know where the Patsy Pond area is across from the North Carolina Coastal Federation! Its in the national forest and there is a big lake back in the woods about half a mile!
I used to take my Dogs in there for a swim but I haven't been in there for some time now, but its a perfect place for your Doggies to get wet and usually no-one around in that area!
There are trails leading into the pond, and a parking place beside 24, if you are heading towards Swansboro, the parking area is on the right,,headed towards Morehead,,its on the left,,like I said just across the road for the NCCF!
Take some time and check the area out,,I would like to go in there again myself, so send me a message if you want to check it out with me when you can, I would be glad to walk with you and show you the area--I live about 3 miles from that area. I will send you a PM with my phone number,,take care--
