Long time luker - first time poster. I'm sure you guys can help me out.

I'll be down in Jacksonville for a business conference the end of this month and will have a free day on Saturday, April 29th. I'm looking for recommendations for off-shore charters for between 3 and 6 people.

Thanks in advance

Ed

the ones I know best are the Jody Lynn boats out of St Augustine. you can get info on the conch house marina web site. Robert Johnson who Captains the Jody Lynn 2 is probably the premier captain in the area. I have never been able to get a charter with him on the weekends with less than 2 months notice. both of these boats, Jody Lynn and Jody Lynn2 are large convertible sportfishers. 42 feet and the Jody Lynn2 is maybe 52 feet. if thyis is what you are looking for try and book the Jody Lynn . I have been out with them and caught a lot of fish. the costs are not low. you can get a center consel for $750 ish but the sport fishers are more if you want a full day. it is more comfortable.

Thanks doeboy. There appear to be many options available to me through the Conch House Marina fleet. As St. Augustine is a 45 mile ride from where I'll be staying in Jacksonville, are there any charter fleets operating closer to Jacksonville proper worth looking into? Or is it better to drive the 45 miles to St. Augustine?

Thanks again for your help.

Ed

I think the boats I mentioned are amongst the best in the area . if you have 3 people and you want to go in center console type out board (I think it is a 31 contender ) then Denny Young does a great job out of Jacksonville or St Augustine. he always comes back with a bunch of snapper/grouper. If you have interest in this I will get the contact info. If you have 6 you would want a bigger boat

Dennis Young or his son would be a top choice in my book. The boat names are Sea Dancer and Jaw Jacker.
